I started Grantland in 1984. Before that, I had hands-on experience in sales, marketing, training, operations, human resources, and general management. I've worked in a variety of fields, including manufacturing, banking, consulting, and computer software. I was graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a BA degree in history; I got my MBA from Columbia Business School, Beta Gamma Sigma honor society.
I started my working career on the plant floor of a manufacturing firm, after which I spent years doing various clerical and administrative jobs - filing, doing payroll, keeping books, and scheduling production - followed by more years in general management. During my career, I've had extensive experience with individuals at all levels in Fortune 500 and other major corporations - from the CEO level down.
Despite predictions by my parents and teachers, and classmates,
I have not spent any time behind bars, yet.
